Poster images of places on Dartmoor and Scilly

I have been playing with some of my photographs in Photoshop – I have for a while wanted to produce some old vintage poster effects. Thanks to some technical support from Simon Lloyd of Visit Dartmoor I now know how do it – thanks Simon. They won’t be to everyone’s liking but I am quite pleased with my initial results.

A very windy day on St Mary’s

Yesterday was a very windy day on St Mary’s – we walked around Salakee Downs past the end of the runway and we could hardly stand up – it was a bit of the mystery how the planes were able to take off and land. It confirmed my view that whatever the sea was like I would rather in the Scillonian…..

It was a bit calmer in the hides at Higher Moors.

GBHHere is another shot of the great blue heron on Lower Moors for comparison (it was still there yesterday afternoon)

Also saw my first swift of the year at Higher Moors yesterday. Long tailed duckIn the bay at Porth Mellon managed to get a half decent shot of the long tailed duck

Last thing yesterday we went to see if we could watch a night heron come into to roost – one did come in but on account of the ‘night element’ there is no photograph.
