A moth from a couple of days ago in the trap. A bit of an ID challenge – I originally thought it was a Great Oak Beauty but upon consulting the book I discovered the flight season was wrong as was the UK geographical location. So I took to Twitter for advice. Soon afterwards Richard Lewington – the artist for the Field Guide to the Moths of Great Britain and Ireland (along with John Wilcox) came back to me and informed me it was a Willow Beauty – thanks for the help – happy to reciprocate when I know my stuff!
