Stone Tor (also known as Stonetor Hill) is a small and little visited Tor at SX648856 – it is about 1/4 miles from the northern tip of Fernworthy Forest.
It consists of a few rocks and a lot of clitter and the Tor has been incorporated into the stone wall
Worth a visit and it can also be incorporated into vista to Kestor and Thornworthy Tor which are nearby. You will need stout walking boots as the area can be pretty wet and of course a map and compass.
The logan stone at Thornworthy Tor
The water filled rock basin on the top of Kestor – of considerable significance to the Druids in times past
Heading there myself tomorrow morning, well that area. trying to work out whether its worth bagging Rival Tor and maybe Watern Tor as well!!
