An amazing year for berries

It may have been a poor year for acorns and ash keys but it has been a great year for berries. Here a few I have seen in the last couple of days.

Berries 1Down near the Turf Locks there was this collection – hips (Wild Rose), haws (Common Hawthorn) and sloes (Blackthorn)

Please note black bryony and bittersweet berries are highly poisonous. Guelder rose berries can be eaten but MUST be cooked first – take care!
